Never heard of that strategy but I know a guy that was buying land, selling easements to Fish and Wildlife (agreeing not to break up land or drain it) and then using the money to buy more land and repeat.

Haven't heard of anyone using that or the other previously mentioned strategy, but I have heard of someone that parted with some farmland to help fund an endeavor flipping houses in Arizona in about 2006...
