That's the truth, you put a position on or hold your unsold grain and naturally you don't want to be wrong. You can tell yourself if it goes higher I sell more but really I want to be right the first time.

That's why a chart can be useful, it is history, yes. But history does repeat itself sometimes. And from what some on here show it can be a useful tool in helping price your commodity. It's not the end all be all. Nor am I good at drawing lines on charts. it may not be right all of the time, but from what I see they should not be ignored. It may not be the hammer in your tool box, but it could be like your pliers.

To just outright ignore charts because you have never needed them before is like saying you don't need the Internet. It's 2015. Not 1984. You can just hide it away and think it will get better. Sure it might. But a proactive approach to taking what should be yours and protecting what you have, is always better than sitting back and waiting to be given something.
