You'll need a separate plug for the trailer since they are wired differently. "RV" style you could call it. Tap into the trucks taillights for turn/stop to make life easy since the RV style runs these together versus separate for the plug on your semi. You can put a brake controller in the cab fed off the brake light switch, and run a wire back to your RV plug.
