The kidney and northern beans will dry down and we used to grow them the same way and harvest them the same way after they dried down. Your local weather would be your guide if you can do that in your garden.


These beans will be thrashed with a Price 4 cylinder bean harvestor. Another company that built Lima bean harvestors was CB Hay.

Many growers who only grow blackeyes will use a lilliston harvester. I think some of those liliston were built as peanut harvesters. Pickett makes a similar machine.

The large limas need something that are tough enough that can handle throwing a few 4x4 blocks through them as the vine can be tough yet gentle enough to handle large flat beans that are prone to splitting. No one has really successfuly used a combine.
