Have a buddy that built a new home on 20 acres that had been no-tilled forever. He has underground electric. The year of the drought, 2012, his grass was green over the buried electrical. It was quite evident where the trench was. The rest of his yard was burned up.

The profile hopefully developed from no-till allows more water to infiltrate the soil profile deeper and quicker, your friend probably had a makeshift plow pan developed that particular year held water. In a drought, hell yeah that's probably better for grass. The crop I'm interested in growing is 9 feet tall, the root system follows suit.

We aint growin yards here............
