Subject: RE: just some food for thought

n.c.iowa

with all the talk of reducing nitrate pollution, by changing nitrogen form or application timing in corn acres, does anyone realize that beans acres are at the very least as quilty if not more.  the ISA and the nutrient reduction strategy partnership have determined that nitrate losses from acres that are in soybeans as great as corn crop losses, doesn't get a lot of press though does it?  couple that with the increased erosion potential from soy acres, I think that the focus of covercrops especially, should be directed more towards the bean acres.
