Clay, Having worked at Deere in Waterloo myself years ago I have a couple comments. At the time I worked there, and I'm sure it still is contractual, the shop employees have mandatory overtime. You can't refuse it if Deere needs it. I worked many 84 hour weeks. Having said that, anyone who who thinks socialism works needs to work in a factory setting where hourly paid employees work among piece rate workers. You soon see how incentive changes everything for the better. Sadly, the Union protects the lazy bums who do little and get paid much which eventually leads to the company outsourcing work.
