SE Iowa
In same position and am thinking about walking away from the high rent. Rented this farm for 28 years and rent is among highest in the county. Landlord may not budge. Just negotiated rent on another piece by another owner and rent was dropped $40/acre. Anyone see this formula on how to price rent? Take gross dollars per acre, say 200 bu corn at $3.50 or $700 times .3 is $210/acre or 60bu beans at $8.50 or $510 times .4 is $204/acre. Those grain prices are about what cash is for October delivery.
Am thinking strongly that corn on corn may be better option on some rented acres.
