I use apogee also. Seems to be the best around. It will act as a annual blue grass herbicide at higher rates. I use 8-12 oz/acre. 8oz. on the older fields and 12oz on the younger ones. Also depends on variety.
For us the certified proprietary under contract is worth it. The fawn, k31, vns is open market and sometimes you cant give it away. Basically that part depends on the yields and weather in your area. Speeking of which, what some of the yeilds in your area?
Here, proprietary fescue seems to average around a ton/acre. New fields in a good weather year can do over 2500lbs/acre. So for us, the 22 cents difference you describe could mean as much as $550.00 an acre.
