KS and NE in eastern 3rd | There are some small guys in my area that do a very good job and probably do a better job on the farm than what most other operations would do on that farm. What I see a lot of though is 500 and under guys that just try to get by with as little investment as possible. Local agronomist told me there are guys that have never used P&K because they don't have to raise a good crop to make money because the land is paid for. A lot of the BTO's in the area hire agronomist to scout their fields and give advice on fertilizer, chemistry , etc. For the most part a 5000 ac operation in my area does a better job than the 500 ac operations. | |
