There are some acres farmed by smaller producers that don't use the latest & greatest, sure.  There's also a lot of people out there who farm a few hundred acres with "overpowered" equipment, and are able to easily put their crop in the ground in a small window if need be.  That can make up for a whole lot of technology compared to the guy next door who is stretching his equipment to the max and by necessity has to run on days that really aren't fit.
