Subject: A theory on Iowa production

Jesup, IA
Iowa just has too many weather patterns to get it to all hit at once. Or at least smaller chances of getting it all to hit.

Southern Iowa (particularly SE IA) tends to share weather with MO. Western IA tends to get more "high plains" style of weather. Storms that hit my area of NE IA tend to form in the center of the state, and don't impact western or southern Iowa.

It just appears the ECB states get a more "state wide" weather pattern, and more "all or nothing" weather tightening up the planting window, pollination..... So those states tend to be hit or miss, while Iowa always has varying regions.

Maybe that's a long winded way of saying we are at peak corn and hard to move the trend line up?
