NEIA
The biggest limiting factor WEATHER (trying to draw attention).
2004 was my best crop year. Our crops were never under heat or moisture stress.
Great yields occur when the lighter or poorer ground pulls it's own weight.

Now that being said a single weather event can make a huge difference.
In 2007 we had a tremendous crop until high winds came through and flattened it.
In 2008 we had a weeks worth of fog and rain in August that according to agronomists smothered the crop.
In 2009 we were so wet in October mold started growing on the ears.

Water and the timing of it are key. Why do you think Dowdy (sp.) can grow 400-500 bu. corn? Water control.
Why do you think NE has such a high state avg. and increasing? Irrigation and adding more acres of irrigation.
