McLeod County, MN | WCWISC - 8/20/2015 20:04
I'm listening to the farm radio ap. Chip said that they're usually 12 bushel high in Minnesota. He didn't say they would take the 12 bushels off of the 190 though. I guess we'll know what they come up with tomorrow.
Here is the MN map for those that aren't familiar with our production.
Everything below the bottom red line is what I would consider the primary production areas and where PF surveyed. This area frequently has large areas that pull of very big crops. Between the two lines is the secondary area. This area is not as well suited for growing corn and is much more prone to be wiped out be mother nature.
What has me on board for a really big crop is that there are sizable areas in the primary region that are really really good. Probably not much that is lights out, but there are very few issues. The other piece of the puzzle is that the secondary area is raising an above average crop as well for most of the region. Stress has been VERY limited. Sure, there are some areas, but I think when the math is all done PF does not have to take MN down by a full 12 BPA. The north is pulling its weight this year. Dont shoot the messenger, just calling it how it is.
