Subject: RE: Am I the only one optimistic???

West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12
I'm optimistic Buck, this will be a good corn crop for me. Saying that, I have had better. The late 90's, early 2000's were very good to me corn yield wise...2012 wasn't just too bad either, not sure if I've got a 2012 corn crop growing out there quite yet or not. Had we had a better month of May, this crop probably would have been a record for me.

"I cant see frost or low test weight being an issue."...I can, it's happened before, more than once, we've got a long time until anything black layers yet. Had we had a better month of May, I would not be least bit worried about frost right now.

I've picked ALOT of froze sweet corn in September, on more than one occasion back in the 80's. Sold ALOT of sub 54lbs. corn those same years.
