Iowa | All coc, corn was very slow to start the season, was fairly cool and damp in may. Yes we are going to have a good crop, but 200 is very unlikely. Talked to a couple different guys who both commented on ear size being 14 around instead of 16-18 like they expected. No doubt there will be some excellent fields, there always is. But we had a field get hailed on that was planted may 2,, two apps of n, smart stax dk, its always one of our best fields. Both dad and the hail adjusteer were disappointed in ear size, was not a 200 fiield. planting conditions were about perfect on that field, be interesting to see how it turns out in october. So with all that said, i thiink we will have a above average crop, record breaker??? Im not convinced yet. | |
