Central Iowa | The corn plants are amazing looking, but many of the fields and hybrids in our part of the state are a tad disappointing. Many corn on corn fields have northern leaf blight. We also had less than ideal cool weather early in the season, when it would have been better to have the heat. Also, a few days during pollination we had really oppressive heat and humidity. The rains have been perfect, but the temps have not been truly ideal.
We have really good corn, but not fantastic yields like a large part of Illinois had last year. Also, I believe some guys skimped on inputs with the cost of production so high. My opinion. | |
