North Central Illinois
The difference between 160 and 175 in Illinois will be how this crop finishes out. Daytime and nighttime temps, sunshine, and precip will determine how this crop finishes out. Yes, I realize the crops over in your area that are in such tough shape will probably not benefit a whole lot from any of those conditions. They are what they are. The rest of the crop though can still benefit a lot from good conditions. I think a lot of the state is okay on moisture and if you believe the forecasts the temps look good for the next two weeks. The way this Illinois crop finishes out could mean a 10 bu or more swing in either direction. If Pro Farmer hits the Illinois number close it will be nothing more than blind luck. They just don't sample enough of this state or any other to do a thorough job of yield charting.
