Years ago somebody wrote a book about worlds fairs and the kinds of things predicted and to what extent they became realities.

The line I remember most from the book went something like this:

"The future looks a good deal like the present, only more streamlined."

Someplace there's a site devoted to the things that Arthur C. Clarke envisioned in his novels. We're now up to something like the iWatch ("Songs of Distant Earth").
