In my opinion the most important thing to find out if the phone has an external antenna port that can be used, this is becomming harder to find but some simple solid phones (ex. Motorola V262) still have them, with this port you can hook up to an external antenna like a mag mount or even use a booster if your situation requires it.

Triband means the phone is capable of three different modes of operation, possibly including CDMA, TDMA, and GSM, typically the only people who need triband phones are those who travel internationally, your phone mode will be determined by who your carrier is (ex. Verizon, AllTel are CDMA)

The Razor is a phone produced by Motorola, called the razor because of its thin size and is produced for use on most modes. I do not beleive it has an external antenna port so I wouldn't consider it.
