After having fried a "good" high $$ DVOM by touching the probes to 240V with the switch set on ohms,I use a cheapy for the normal grunt work and keep the good one for the jobs that need real accuracy. It really supprised me that the $3 HF DVOM seems to be just as accurate as the good one ,and has most of the same features.
