This spring Kare 11 TV got on the milkweed bandwagon in a huge way, every weather segment had milkweed updates. They have an outdoor area they give the weather from and planted a milkweed patch in it. Dozens of stories on milkweed on their site if you search a little.
I'm fine with them planting the milkweeds in downtown Twin Cities. And I like monarchs as much as the next person, so that might be the good answer - have milkweed plantations in the cities for them, I like that.
But, the farm - city disconnect again, there was no mention of the horrible weed this actually is in my part of the country. Before roundup, man that was a noxious, bad one. Its on the list of weeds you have to control in most counties here.
Think they will be surprised at how well those milkweeds establish and spread in 2-3 years? ;)
