| Hello,
My question is----- i plant a viking seed corn that is a semi to full flex ear number---- we have had adequate rain fall to fill out the corn crop and corn is in pollination stage right now and the corn right now has 2 full ears and some with even 3 ears so i was wondering IF the plant will fill both ears if the corn plant has adequate amount of rainfall or will it abort the 2nd ear and fill just 1 ear. I planted 28,000 population so would that help to fill or does not make a difference. The N,P and K are up to par on the plants because i just had a tissue test done. I am seeing this in the middle of the field fyi not just on the outside rows! Did you farmers in Illinois last year have double ears? was wondering because i was at Prairie Hybrids field day last year and i saw double ears filled on some of there varieties!
Thank you in advance!!! | |
