I didn't say raise the pressure, just raise the flow or reduce the flow required by using a smaller diameter cylinder. This being a closed center system, the pressure is set by the pump controller, not the load.

Leaks are a problem on the vintage tractor and one of the causes of loss of hydraulics when the charge pump can't keep up. http://www.geraldj.networkiowa.com/4020si.htm every valve and all the plumbing can contribute leaks when pressurized all the time the engine is running.
