Subject: RE: hydrolic pump on 4020?

Faunsdale, AL
There are some larger capacity pumps that would probably bolt right in, but the limiting component is usually the transmission/charge pump. IF you have the hydraulic return from something like a joystick or other auxiliary valve plumbed into a ported hydraulic filter cover, you can get a lot more flow because the return flow from the valve adds to the charge pump flow going forward to the front pump. Don't think the SCV's do that.

Have you adjusted the flow control on the valves?

If everything was in good shape, a single set of remote couplers will flow about the same GPM as that pump, but most old tractors have some high pressure leaks that rob some of your high pressure flow.
