Subject: I'm in the garden spot of Iowa

Jesup, IA
I'm in the garden spot of Iowa and I got this from a BASF fungicide rep who looked over some of my fields yesterday:

- One note on these 2 fields was I thought some of the ear girth was trending on the lower side. Some 18 around but also finding 14 around. Stresses during the V3-V6 time frame can impact the ear girth and we were very cloudy and cool during that period this year and I have been wondering if that would come back and bite us. Good grain fill can still make up part of that difference.

So what does this mean for corn East of the Mississippi and South of I-80 in the wet zone of IL, IN, OH, MO, NE?
