Dearfield Co. | There was one made for a while that used a plastic retainer that was like a rivet ------you stepped on the clutch with the engine off to seat it and flatten it on the back side. We had one spit out backing the truck out of the shop. the whole point of using them is ease of installation. The ones that use the two roll pins seem to be about the toughest but also the toughest to get them out. The facing on them will sometimes fly off. The other ones made out of cast aluminum that one hit with a hammer and chisel will peel out of their also seem to wear the worst due to a honey comb design in the aluminum which the lining will eventually sink into and then shear off. I always make sure every time we take a trans out it gets the new plate where the clutch brake hits so it helps them last longer | |
