Wyoming

After getting the NH 1095 balewagon and getting an eyeball on the Allison tranny (AT545) in the 1095, I feel pretty comfortable saying that there are two grades of Allison tranny: the ones in the GM pickups... and everything else. The 1095 tranny is huge, takes a large amount of fluid and looks to be built to go behind a diesel engine -- big and heavy.

The Allison in the GMC pickups just isn't as big -- and the diesel engine in those pickups is capable of putting out twice the HP of the 7.5L Genesis engine in the balewagon.

As for Cummins owership: http://finance.yahoo.com/q/mh?s=CMI

As for putting a Cumming B5.9 into a Ford Truck: Well, yes, some neighbors of EdB are selling kits to do just that. Those cold winters up there in Big Sky country must cause some serious cabin fever among the gear-heads, because I keep seeing all kinds of neat-o stuff like this being done in Montana:

I might just buy one of these kits and a B5.9 to lay away for the day when my 7.3L SuperDuty gives it up 10+ years from now. In 10 years, I'm sure the enviromentalists will have clamped down on diesel engine rebuilds the way they're doing in Kahl-ee-fornia.
