S Illinois | Thank you for the update. It is always good to get on the ground reports. From those year listed, it looks like my geography(S IL) needs to have about 2-4 weeks of 95+ temps and extremely warm nights(75+) for MN to really produce. Here in Illinois it does have a 2010 feel with all of the ponding and drown outs, but so far it doesn't look like we will get the heat or the dryness that developed later in that season.
Just for curiosities sake , how was the MN crop in 2004? Not that we are anywhere close to that, but I still believe that was the most perfect nationwide corn weather year in the last 40. | |
