Too late for the discount. Forms had to be submitted with the acreage report and that was due by Aug 15. The standard population used for BYE was 29,630 plants per acre (80,000 / 2.7 acres). However, that was not set in stone and could be adjusted depending on the situation ( wide rows, plainer ground and such).
Dupont and Syngenta are eligible next year. Also, the paperwork is supposed to be simplified and the failure penalty reigned in. All in all, a good deal for corn producers.
