swohio | I like what moocowmachine said. I planted corn into a green crop of cereal rye this spring. Put down 10 gal/ac. of 28 with planter and spread 100lb/ac. of 21-0-0-24. Corn looked good from get go. Never looked like it need N. Killed another field of cereal rye going into corn because I was afraid it would get away from me. I think the green planted corn has done better. I'm still learning. I would not be afraid of cereal rye going to corn. I really like how easy to kill and how great it holds soil in place. Just have a good amount of N for the corn. Others may have not had my luck, but have talked to a number of farmers from eastern states that have been doing this for awhile and with great success. | |
