Mid Michigan
They say a lot can be learned about your soil by the type of weeds that grow on it. We have pustly, wild carrot, chickory, lambsquarter, and quite a bit of clover. What does that say about our soil? I know that clover is hard to kill with roundup and I should have done a light tillage pass instead of total no till. I also wonder why more people don't use wild carrot as a cover crop. It really has a lot of green matter and the roots go down through the hardpan quite a ways. I always call wild carrot natures cover crop.
