NW IL, Mercer County | Pope creek beans had some water damage. Low spots are gone but creek only came out on 1 of 2 fields. Hard to believe that the drowned area was pumping out 270 bu corn last year!
I did see your corn tasseling. I always watch yours pretty close this time of year, always figure yours is going to be 1st tassels in the area. It looks darn good. I saw a couple poking out yesterday on my 105 day planted 4/28. Otherwise 1-2 leaves away yet on fuller season.
Poor corn seems to be the norm up that way. I would hate to farm that "2nd bottom" transitional ground up there. First to burn up or drown out. | |
