I know I would like it for spraying. After planting the field, it should know where the field edge is and adjust the AB line accordingly.
How will it know where the field edge is? You're assuming that the line was made with the planter, and that the line was made at 1/2 the planter width from one edge of the field. What if the line was made with a combine on the first pass through the center of the field? 39' draper cutting wheat that was planted with a 30' drill. When the seeding rig comes into the field next spring, where should the system place the line?
I'm not saying your idea is bad. Not at all. But there are a lot of variables to consider, and getting any one of them wrong or not accounting for odd corner cases can result in a lot of ticked off customers. Easier to let the customer decide exactly where he wants the line, regardless of his implement width.
