I'm a state away, but I have a similar field - well 1/3 of a field. Of course right next to the county road, hillside going up so you can see a very nice display.......

With last years extremes of rain and early frost, that field of corn really went down. I was quite disappointed, but ended up that was the highest yielding field I had last year. The field that didnt drop an ear was 40bu an acre less in the wagon.

Sure woulda been nice to get it all in the wagon tho!

Now, I put on generic Select last week, and caught a 1/10 of an inch rain silly shower just as I finished. The volunteer corn isn't showing much effect yet. I forget if that stuff is slow acting, or it washed off and I need to start over. I'll give it a couple more days. Let the neighbors talk some more.....
