Some pics of cereal rye from harvest-to-spring-to planting-to post plant....all are the same field. I want you to pay particular attention to the two different planting pic dates. First pic was May 4. note the height of the rye. I got rained out and had to come back three days later. Note the difference in rye height (in relation to planter bar) in just three (3) days. So, it may take a bit for the rye to pick up speed, but it is just like a freight train. When it gets growing good.....there is no stopping it "Here". Last pics show the stage the rye reached at termination. I was again rained out and could not terminate the rye until 8-10 days after planting. It had headed out. The very last pic shows how fast the standing rye breaks down after termination. Edit: the second planting pics posted first, and I did not want to fiddle with the pic order. I think you will be able to decipher the order....
