Subject: RE: weed spraying after wheat harvest?

Near-north Ontario, French River
How low to you cut your wheat? Do you bale the straw? If you have no pressing needs, like tiling or leveling the field , I'd leave it for 4-6 weeks. Let it get some rain on it to let volunteer wheat come up, as well as a new flush of weeds. Thistles and fleabane that you clipped when cutting the wheat will also have a chance to regrow. I like to spray eragon as it will take out any fleabane and thistles , and has some residual activities to get later flushes as well. Just be sure that you get it sprayed before any regrowing fleabane ( or ones that didn't get clipped at harvest) get a chance to go to seed.
