Thanks, that does make sense. Had a nite at that stage that was low 30's. Wasn't too concerned at the time. It is a very low percentage affected.


Just as a FYI for next time, this was caused because the female part of your wheat was damaged. Wheat is a self pollinator. If you open up each kernels pod before a seed is filled (boot stage, or early head emergence) inside it you will see 3-4 little spikes. A week after your freeze you will see they will still be green or have turned brown. Once brown the game is over. Wheat fills each head starting in center moving to the top, then center to bottom. Hence the reason you see plants missing there central and top parts in your photos. The bottoms likely had not grown there spikes yet.
