Best things for beans I've seen are
1. Rain at the right time in consideration of the maturity of the beans
2. Tile tile tile
3. Fertility (long term) not necessarily fertilizer that year.

Drainage is very good. Frustrating issue is fertility. Agronomist says I'm in good shape. Potash and map gets broadcast in the fall.

Where are your P/K/PH levels? Soybeans also like micros some... I can't give the greatest advice on the usage, but I believe sulfur especially, as well as Boron and Zinc.
