You need really hot and windy weather to dry out the stalk for any chance of survival. If it stays cool and wet, stalk rot will take over. It may not die immediately, but will never be a producing plant. I'm guessing you'll get totaled out, so give it a couple weeks and see what happens. Even 12-15k plants can yield you something, but then the weeds come into play and you pay a small fortune killing them off the following year...
