This is the second to last field of corn planted mid afternoon 6/10/2015. The table shows the min max air and 2 inch soil temps and corn gdd's. Since i didn't get the data logger placed untill 18:00 on the 11th the soil temps were Interpolated from the air temps recorded down the road a bit, that was for the 10th and 11th of June.
When i downloaded the data logger on the 26th the corn plants were in the 3 leaf with collar stage.

From the information i have gathered they say that each leaf collar stage up to v10 takes about 82 gdd's using 50 degrees as a base temperature. Also up to the 6 leaf collar stage the growth rate is influenced by the soil temperature, after that then the air temperature comes into play.

Also it takes about 120 gdd's for corn to emerge.

It looks like its running ahead of schedule. according to the soil temp gdd's it should be only at the 2.45 leaf collor stage.
