| If possible try to stay with same strip till implement as the planter. RTK makes a big diffrence if you choose to go with diffrent configurations. The shank type machines pull hard and require alot of HP. They also put the P&K in a band right were the plant needs it. We have cut the rates on some Fields by 20% Only because these fields have a very high organic matter from years of hauling manure. On farms with lower organic matter we keep rates pretty much the same. The two top strip till machines I would invest in would be a Krause or a Dawn. They both have very good features. One is a shank type and the other is a coulter type. The Dawn pulls alot easier and mixs the fertilizer in the soil and makes a very nice berm. Krause uses the shank and puts it in a deeper placement band Krause makes a very nice berm as well but takes alot of hp. It all depends were you want your fertilizer placement and hp. requirements. | |
