I have to disagree. Farming is a business, it is not a contest about who can work harder and waste the most money when they are already in the hole. Yeah if more inputs will bring payback by all means do it. If you are just doing it because it is what you have always done or have nothing better to do maybe better get out the pad and paper and start figuring out what the crop really is, what it needs and if it is really worth more inputs.

To the OP, make the decision that keeps your operation afloat to plant next year, don't do anything based on someone not thinking you are not working hard enough. Get your spraying done, you will have that expense no matter what. Sidedressing will probably still pay if you can get over the corn. I am sure you know what beans planted in july will be like. At this point I would be thinking pp check and playing around with tillage radishes or something.
