How tall is the crop? Taller=faster. Yesterday I ran 1.5 mph, I have it set as tight as I can get it to bury any in row weed but not bury the corn or beans. Once they get a head start I'll widen the shanks away from the row for the next pass to prevent root pruning and in turn I can run faster, probably 3-4 mph. If I need a third pass, by then I can usually got 5+. I'm sure there are other posters here with more knowledge and experience than me that could give you better advice. ....

Add: yesterday I ran 31 acres of 5-6 acre fields 5 miles apart. So 3ish acres an hour. The first pass is the most critical.

Cultivating is an art, like making fine wine, oil painting, or figuring out why my wife is mad at me. It takes time and patience. When done correctly the results are beautiful, done wrong and I sleep on the couch
