Subject: RE: Qty of different corn hybrids

Ohio
Operator: Oh absolutely it could be (and often is) operator error. I'm the operator.

Some details:
New to us 2014 Kinze 3200. Purchased from farmer who used it one year
We have the 20/20 Monitor. I watched the spacing/singulation close. I saw the simulation go from 98%/99% to under 94% on change of seed on a few meters.
Removed 4 of the worst offenders (seed meters), took them to PP Dealer. He rebuilt the 4 and gave me a PP to try in comparison. Singulation the singulation returned to 96 to 97 per the monitor. When corn came up...did not look as good as old JD 7200
Speed - I drove 3.8 to 4.8 mph based on the best readings from 20/20. More close to 4.0 than anything else

Yes the monitor was doing it's job...telling me of the poor singulation. But the rain was coming and night was near. So I kept on going. Glad I did...cause a lot of guys struggled to get corn planted that month.
