franksville wi | We have 14 varieties from 3 companies on 1100 acres I try to get a couple new numbers that I split planter so when we combine the monitor tells me which is better not just a strip here or there but a good area for comparison. I have found in the past that putting a strip or test plot led me to poor variety choices ( always did them on best ground and then switched to all on tougher ground) now I can see standability yield and moisture all on same playing fields when trying new stuff. One thing I do try to remember is put headlands as just HL variety in monitor because tree lines can really throw a loop in my yield results. Use pp finger meters now had kinze before but my back does like smaller bags now. Yes I still toss bags strong back weak mind. | |
