NW central IL | I had just the opposite happen. all my xtra-tenders(Aush2's) grew, but the year old 2170 had poor cold germ/emergence compared to the other hybrids. Im going to throw the rest out cause about 35-40% was all that made it. id say 80-85% of the other made it in my first planting all the first planting corn were suppose to be "good cold germ" for aush2 corn, but it got real cold on it in april.
nirvana and old 274 had real good germ this year. on my second planting, which was may 4 or 5th nirvana had 90-95% germ and you could row it acouple days before the rest of the corns. I hope it tastes good, cause I really like the looks of that corn so far. its a 75 day | |
