You and lots of others wont be in business long doing that. The rent must reflect the risk you take and that means on average you must always at least break even. Weather extremes and their associated risk must be shared by both parties but in the long run average productivity must be reflected in lower rent. I agree 100%, & my average rental rate on all rented acres is low enough that I won't lose much if any $ but if look at it on a per farm basis the two farms im referring to won't break even taking PP |
