It all depends on the farmer.

If this is a guy who come along and said he is going to give you xyz for your ground and you accepted it then he should pay up since he took it away from a more responsible farmer. If this is the same guy you have had for a long time and he has been raising up his payments to you cause he thought you ought to get a bigger chunk of the money while prices were high then you should work with him. If you have been pressuring him to pay obscene prices then maybe you should rethink your philosophy in being greedy like a bto is. If your dealing with a bto and took that money and forced the little guy to hit the road then your gonna get whats coming to you, personally I hope you stick it to the guy if he is a bto. Those guys are bankrupting everybody and then go bankrupt themselves.

Maybe you all can plant some rice? lol I'd ask him to plant some beans in July on 1/3's. You get a clear 1/3 of the crop and are out nothing, thats the way we farm and it is very hard on our end as the LL takes up all the profit but they also take a risk as well. Maybe clear 1/3 in beans and ..28 of the crop in corn?

If your in SW Missouri you should be good to go in planting beans on up into early July.
