Central Missouri
The biggest I have found to help me:

What is your base saturation? A low calcium and high magnesium soil will erode more. Start there and fix that first with lime. Otherwise everything else is just playing catch up.

Plant grass crops: corn and wheat. Stay away from beans as much as possible

Interseed or aerial apply cover crops so one is growing while the other one is maturing. That way there is always root absorbing and balancing water in the soil.

A small grain crop or cover crop, that is drilled or broadcasted will help a bunch. You need to spatial arrange roots, not in 30" rows. This will hold more soil.
